Oh yeah!!! That was awesome!
At this point it is all about "firsts" and that is how to stay positive. I broke my back, severed my spinal cord and had surgery. I thought my life was over, to imagine life with out snowboarding and everything my legs allowed me to do, but that is not what to focus on. Everytime I did a first since my surgery I starting thinking to myself...who can remember their first time feeding themselves, the first time they brush their their teeth, comb their hair, their first unassisted bath, watching their father burst into tears as they take their first steps. Seeing the unconditional love and support of friends family and strangers. These are moments in life that will carry you through each day. Each day I feel pain I remember all my firsts and how blessed I am to experience thesefirsts that everyone else can't remember because they were too young. Everyday I know the lord has a plan for me, I have been touched by others strength and the strength and experience you find through this injury will help others in need. You have become a hero with your amazing strength and positivity in the wake of tradgedy. Look forward to the future, cherish you "first", keep pushing forward knowing the lord is by your side and you will be blessed everyday and when it feels too much to bear you can turn to your lords and brother who knows exactly what you are going through. You can email me if you need someone to come chat to you, offer what I have learned, share my strengths and my weakness and how i have overcome those and coped with them. I would love to do that, it has been something I have done many times for many people I now call friends and heros. Emilyboarder@gmail.com
